The National Opera

The National Opera House is Ireland’s first custom-built, multi-purpose opera house and home to the world-famous Wexford Festival Opera. 
The stunning landmark building is nestled into the heart of the beautiful harbour town of Wexford and offers two diverse performance spaces, the O’Reilly Theatre and the Jerome Hynes Theatre, as well as numerous meeting and hospitality facilities, including a café and many bars.

Johnstown Castle

Johnstown Castle in County Wexford is one of the great Victorian revival Castles in Ireland. The property was presented as a gift to the Irish Nation in 1945 and was later occupied by the Department of Agriculture who established an agricultural institute here and undertook to maintain but not to alter the ornamental grounds.  This is a wonderful place for a stroll on a fine day. The Gardens are open to the public and there are some really lovely walks around the grounds. The pathways throughout the Castle grounds meander through woodland garden and around lakes. If staying in Wexford we highly recommend a visit here. Opening Hours:  The gardens are open all year round, 7 days a week from 9am- 4.30pm (5.30pm in summer)

Curracloe Beach

Curracloe Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sandy beach in County Wexford, it stretches for miles and is famous for its soft, fine sand. Curracloe Beach was featured in the D-Day sequence in the Hollywood film ‘Saving Private Ryan’.  There is also a nature trail which runs through the dunes offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about the local flora and fauna. 

The Irish National Heritage Park

The Irish National Heritage Park is an open-air museum near Wexford Town which tells the story of human settlement in Ireland from the Mesolithic period right up to the Norman Invasion in 1169. 

The Hook Lighthouse

The Hook Lighthouse is a building situated on Hook Head at the tip of the Hook Peninsula in County Wexford, in Ireland. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in the world and the second oldest operating lighthouse in the world, after the Tower of Hercules in Spain.

The Saltee Islands

The Saltee Islands are a pair of small islands lying 5 kilometres off the southern coast of County Wexford in Ireland. The two islands are Great Saltee and Little Saltee. They have been largely unoccupied since the early 20th century and have been privately owned by the Neale family since 1943.

National 1798 Rebellion Centre

National 1798 Rebellion Centre is a heritage centre dedicated to the history of the 1798 Rebellion located in Enniscorthy, County Wexford
 
There are many more attractions outside Wexford Town which one can visit and enjoy:
Our Lady’s Island, Carne: contains the ruins of a Norman Castle built in 1237.
 
Wexford Fowl reserve: over one third of the world’s population of Greenland White-fronted Geese spend the winter on the Wexford slobs.
 
Wexford boat trips and Seal colony: boat trips and seal watching tours out to raven Point are provided from Wexford Town Quay side during the Summer months.
